Please try again later. I loaded it into Windows 10 and Verified Purchase. This, although second hand, arrived in excellent condition. I loaded it into Windows 10 and throughout the install there was little indication that it was loading – infact, at the end windows went into being reconfigured and closed down. I was worried but the install had completed without me knowing, it was all there in programs.

I then simply ran it from programs and it went to key validation. The official specs for this have always been short of what’s needed, but I run it fine with on CPU 1. I use a gaming laptop linked to a hd monitor. I can max the sliders but get the best out of it when knocking water details, cars and boats down by half on the sliders and putting autogen density at just “dense” it makes a difference.

Great product. This is a Great program, theres no getting away from that. Its spawned a whole community of flying enthusiasts , whether they be armchair pilots or real ones brushing up on their skills.

The detail is superlative with the correct add-ons. The program runs on most modern computers with ease and is very adjustable to get a good mix of frame rate, essential for an accurate flight-model and level of detail – to make it look good. However I have not given it 5 stars because it does have some very annoying faults.

Primarily my main gripe is the consistency of it crashing – not the plane crashing but the program! One of the main things I wanted to do with this program was create video clips to show off to the world my erm I got Just to the end of the runway and what happened?

So Frustrating!!! The scenery especially and almost everything else is more detailed and believable. Its a little more expensive but is a much better program. After ringing support I was told that the program was no longer supported as Microsoft laid off the whole flight simulator team. Well that just does not wear with me – the program is still being sold by Microsoft so it should still be supported by them – that’s like selling a brand new car and saying , if it breaks down that’s just tough!

Its particularly annoying because its older sibling FS has been running like a dream – its a much more stable program, if you have the choice between the two , get the older version.

One person found this helpful. Having spent many years using FS9, which over time has has had many addons to improve the experience, thought it was about time to try FSX out. There’s certainly an improvement in the default scenery, but as others have said you do need a decent spec PC to run it if you want to get the best out of it. I’ve got an I5 3GZ processor, and I can’t run it anywhere near maxed out.

If you start adding extras, you need to adjust the settings accordingly. FSX is also prone to crashes at unexpected times, especially when cycling through the views. Shame really, it could have been that little bit better. I’ll still use it, but I think most of my flying will still be in FS9.

Delivery from the seller was quick. My son loves it and given its age the graphics and speed are better than we expected.

Ask a new question. I fully understand that flight Simulator X is not supported by Windows 10 and that is why I’m here, to request support and updates on flight Simulator X.

Flight Simulator X by it’s self works including multiplayer but I encountered problem when I installed Acceleration expansion pack, No dialog to activate it poped up causing it to go into a sortive ‘demo mode’ where I can not access multiplayer although single player works.

If I want to access multiplayer i have to uninstall Acceleration expansion pack and install the service pack 2 and vice versa to get Acceleration to work uninstall service pack 2 as apparently acceleration has it included and install acceleration.

From your post, I understand that you can install Acceleration Pack and get it to work, except you cannot activate it. I haven’t seen any conclusive fixes for this, except to check your Registry entry that deals with any?

FSX activation issues. You can check the following as a first up solution:. Expand the following registry key:. After you find the folder, double-click Upperfilters on the right side. Change the value from 0 to PartMgr and then click OK. If PartMgr is already there, then leave it as is.

Close Registry Editor 6. Or lastly, uninstall FSX completely that is, remove any references to it in its directory, other locations and Registry. Reboot computer. Reinstall FSX and take a flight and shut it down. Install SP1 and take a flight then shut it down. Try installing Acceleration Pack and see how you go. Was this reply helpful? Firstly, congratulations on reaching 90 yrs of age! And also still trying to keep your flying skills honed at this age says a lot about your energy levels and enthusiasm. It’s sad that you are not able to get your FSX running on Windows Many have had this problem, as a cursory glance in this Community Forum will reveal.

If you need further help, can you write back the nature of the problem i. Can you see if there is any error message that comes up on your screen and also any problem reported in your Event Viewer to get to this: right click on the Windows icon at the bottom left of the screen and then click on Event Viewer. It will take a while to populate this window as it has to search many areas of your system.

Right click on the Error line and go into properties and an expanded view of the problem will appear. I would be interested in the Error Code and the Faulting Module details in particular.

Hopefully, we can find out where the problem is located as I do know that FSX runs in Win10 and runs very well. Win10 does require more of your computer resources so I hope that FSX will not bog down here. Well, you’re at the right Registry entry, but if you only see those three entries, then that entry is corrupt.

In my Registry, I have ten entries, with UpperFilters at the bottom. I don’t want to suggest any tampering with the Registry as it could cause more harm than good. You may want to first do a System scan which may put back any system files and correct entries.

And Enter. This will scan your system, make corrections and give you the results at the end.
